Jaw-type Foot Sealer with 5mm width of seal
A robust sealer like this is intended for sealing plastic bags, in a production environment, with the operator seated (if the height/orientation of the jaw does not suit your needs, take a look at our semi-automatic sealers). This sealer contains a power transformer which is capable of the repetitive demands of production type usage. This sealer is fitted with an element 5mm wide (more than the standard 2,3mm) and the transformer has capacity to heat the element as quickly as the standard sealer heats a 2,3mm element. Its element is covered with a heat-resistant fabric which is coated with non-stick PTFE – from which soft plastic can be wiped easily.
If you wish to make bags from a roll of tubing, one of our sealers which have sharp cutting blades would be better. To use this sealer to make bags from tubing, use scissors, or use a box-cutter knife and a plank, to cut from the tubing.
There are other models of sealer, different from this one, intended for centre-folded film. To use this sealer to make bags from a roll of centre-folded film – would be clumsy.
An impulse-type sealer like this one – consumes power when sealing – very little power at all when merely switched on. This makes it suitable for intermittent use. There is no need to batch the sealing work or wait minutes for warm-up or cool-down before or after making seals.
On impulse sealers, the elements and insulating sheets (Teflon) are consumable. Order a spare pack of elements, a spare roll of adhesive Teflon, and a spare piece of non-adhesive Teflon, with this sealer.
